The Binns Track: Timber Creek to Mt Dare — 12 Days

Cross the Northern Territory's wild heart on one of Australia's great outback touring routes. The track takes its name from Bill Binns, who worked for the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Service, rising from ranger to Executive Director over 32 years of service — his long-held dream of a route showcasing the real outback.

Starting in the tropical gorges of Judbarra/Gregory National Park, the journey winds through the vast cattle country of Victoria River Downs, historic goldrush towns, and the rugged, little-visited Davenport Ranges. Detour to a 5,400-year-old meteorite crater, fossick for gems, wander century-old mining ruins, and camp beside a permanent outback waterhole. After a free day to explore Alice Springs, the track heads south along the remote Old Andado Track — past a rare desert tree found nowhere else on Earth, through Molly Clark's historic homestead, and into the towering red dunes of the Simpson Desert — before finishing at the legendary Mt Dare Hotel.

*Additional accommodation - some of our stays may have accommodation options if you have had enough of camping. This can be arranged whilst on tour, subject to availability.

The Binns Track is suitable for swags, tents, Roof Top Tent's and small full off-road camper trailers for experienced drivers. - Swags and other camping gear are available for hire.

Please allow a couple of extra days in the case of break downs etc.

14 – 7 days prior to departure date – refund of 50 % of monies paid**

7 days or less prior to departure - No refund
