This is the Flinders Ranges done properly — eight days of premium small-group 4WD touring through one of the oldest landscapes on Earth, with the comfort and hospitality to match the scenery, opening with a relaxed welcome meet-up in Melrose that takes in a Flinders Gin tasting in Quorn before dinner back at Jacka Brothers Brewery. From there we loop north through spectacular gorge country and heritage rail towns to ancient fossil fields and the remote wilderness of Arkaroola, camp beneath one of the region's great Aboriginal rock art galleries at Chambers Gorge, then turn south through the copper-mining town of Blinman and a working sheep station to the iconic Wilpena Pound, finishing with a farewell dinner at Rawnsley Park Station on the Pound's southern doorstep. Expect boutique stays, exceptional regional food, and access to guided experiences — fossil fields, dark-sky observatories, underground mines and private station tracks — that most visitors to the Flinders never get near.
